This is a long, but extremely educational video put together by an RN who knows her Addison's Disease stuff. Two fairly urgent things I need to do: Get enough money together to buy a medic alert bracelet and start carrying one of my Cortef shots around with me just like I carry my medicinal marijuana license or my disability parking tag in my purse.

I found this entry while doing research on Addison's Disease. I've just recently been diagnosed with AD and I've been thinking about pursuing medicinal marijuana for the pains and nausea that i get.
Are you on medicinal marijuana for your AD and if so, how did you approach your doctor about it?
Also is the disability parking tag for addison's disease too?
Hi!

Well, I moved from the house I owned and loved in Austin to return to the Bay Area specifically for the better medical care and the openness regarding medicinal marijuana and the Fentynal patches keeping me from being totally and completely bed-bound.

I have fibromyalgia (FMS) which is a pain condition. I am also highly allergic to Candida, which my body produced too much of due to the steroids I'm on for the Addison's. I spent ten days in the hospital last summer only to lose my cruise tickets and airfare to the Galapagos (nearly dying doesn't get your money back apparently) and they couldn't find anything new other than the Candida was growing all through my upper digestive tract and thus complicating with the Addison's.

The medicinal marijuana was originally for the FMS, IBS, migraines, and insomnia - just to start. Now it's also for the Addison's. The disability tag is for the FMS AND the Addison's.
