A person a few rooms down died this morning. The insanity outside my room has been kind of ignoring the facts patients like here can hear everything. All the discussions about CPR and the machine needed to assist them and the EMT arriving too late and why they can't remove a dead body since the hospital can't take dead bodies and the RNs unsure of what to do next in this situation. I say this morning, but in actuality I mean right now. I'm writing this as things are only just now slowing down and the whispers are starting.
So time of death is approximately 7:40am PST. And it will possibly be a talking point for most of the day.
The overnight RN and CNA in my area ignored me and didn't do any of the normal bedtime assisting. My clothes were never put away. My requests were ignored in fact. It's a little difficult to not wonder if that didn't somehow cause what just occurred. Not my requests, of course. I mean that if I was ignored then it's probable that the rooms around me were ignored as well.
Well, I'll find out more later.
"We're just going to put a sheet over him." "Happy Monday morning."
And the EMTs leave without the body and it's a very interesting start to the day, certainly.
